RO Capital Partners (ROCP), the RO Group’s venture capital arm, aimed to enhance their energy efficiency and reduce operational costs in their flagship Bristol property for key tenant, PKF Francis Clark.

Unplug hidden energy waste 

PKF Francis Clark are an award-winning firm of chartered accountants and business advisers. The office, spanning 24,377 sq. ft. across four storeys, faced significant energy waste attributed to ‘plug power’ waste - energy not required by devices such as monitors, TVs, printers, AV equipment, chilled and hot water taps and heaters, and which are often left fully on or in standby mode overnight. Up to 40% of total electricity usage in most commercial office buildings can be attributed to this type of ‘plug power’ energy use.


Implementing smart solutions with’s AI-powered sockets were installed into PKF Francis Clark’s office to identify and reduce unnecessary energy consumption by devices plugged into them. By using machine learning, the system automatically detects and manages power usage, ensuring devices are only consuming energy when necessary, and turns them off when not in use.
